Aqua Aerem has signed a joint development agreement with Japanese firm Osaka Gas for the Desert Bloom green hydrogen project in Australia. The 10GW facility is planned to cost US$10.75bn.
Osaka Gas will be responsible for project management, technical activities such as engineering and support, identification of costumers and negotiation of sales, as well as contact with manufacturers.
The plant will use modular 2MW hydrogen production units (HPUs), each being connected to a photovoltaic system, a concentrated parabolic trough, a solar thermal heater, a water producing unit, and an electrolyser.
To be built in Northern Territory, Desert Bloom will produce approximately 410,000 metric tonnes of green hydrogen per year. Output will be directed to domestic and foreign clients.
